New Member Announcement!

October 2, 2009

We have an exciting announcement to make!

Please welcome Emily! She is our newest addition of talent to Happy!Project. She will debuting at the mini-concert at Izumi-con. We hope that you will meet and welcome her at Izumi-con.

“Hello! My name is Emily! In my spare time I learn my favorite Hello! Project dances, spend time with friends, go shopping, text, and work out. I dislike holding still! My favorite Japanese idol is Yoshizawa Hitomi. My friends describe me as funny, intelligent and cute. In a superficial way I think the idol I’m most like is Michishige Sayumi, because I love to feel confident, though I like cool idol characters more than cute ones. I also like riotgrrl music, hip hop, classic rock, and oldies. My charm points are my (almost) Kumai Yurina height, the little gap between my front teeth, and my vintage rock girl style.”

We hope that you welcome and support her!!

Izumicon Update & Pocket Weekly #24

September 11, 2009

We have a very exciting update concerning Izumicon in Oklahoma City, OK. Happy!Project will be having a mini-concert! The show will run about 30 minutes in length. The girls are very excited about the show and have already begun preparation for this exciting event. We hope that you all will be able to check it out! The set list, along with a few other announcements will be made as the event draws closer!

The girls will also be very involved at other events at the convention! Many of the girls will be working as actresses and performers at Fruits Basket and Ouren High School Host Club tea parties. The girls will be playing the part of different characters. We are greatful to be offered to be a part in these events, and excited to expand our talents as a group.

Aside from that, you’ll be able to catch the girls as a number of different panels that they will be hosting! Details will be given later on. There will be plenty of opporunities to show your support and come visit us! We hope to see you there!

Now without further ado, number 24 in our pocket weekly series! Remember, if you would like to have your question answered, simply post your question as a comment on this post, or send us an email at happyprojectlove@gmail.com !! We look forward to hearing from you!!

Let’s pack a Bento-Box Lunch!! What are you packing in it?

Tonkatsu, Rice and all kind of fruits and vegetables!! I don’t like fish, so really anything beside fish is okay with me!! I’d pack peppermint green tea to drink~ Yay!

Strawberries and Cherries! I would also want Hello Kitty Shaped Rice Balls. Eel over rice and some green tea too!

Rice, mini sandwiches of different kinds, boiled egg, fruit/veggies, and green tea. I’d love to add some sushi, but it would depend on how long it would be before I would eat it.

Hmm! I would have to say- 3 pieces of unagi sushi rolls, some fresh fruits: strawberries, kiwi, and pineapple! Along with some chicken teriyaki and a small bottle of ramune or juice for a drink!

hmm thats a toughie! Probablly something like chicken teriyaki and tempura and of course some yummy onigiri too! With Mochi Ice Cream and Ramune on the side! YUM! LOL sounds REAL healthy now doesn’t it?!  NOT!!!

If it was strictly Japanese, There would be around four mini sushi’s (three teriyaki, one tuna) a whole heap of rice, two soya source packets in case I need them, and Sweet Noodles ;D (plus Rose Water on the side for drinking~)

Pocket Weekly #23 & Auditions

August 15, 2009

Applications can be retrieved by emailing us at happyprojectlove@gmail.com . Check out the tab and fill out an application! We’re looking forward to it!

Without any other news, I bring you this weeks pocket weekly.

Is there anything special you do in order to pump yourself up before going on stage for a performance?

I imagine how previous performances have gone, and the crowd cheering us on. If the crowd is energetic, I feel their energy and perform even better! So imagining that, and the feeling of a successful performance gets me pumped up and ready to go! Also, before performing, we always say a mini-cheer before going on stage- It unites us together and pumps us all up, and I’m always comforted knowing that they’ll be with me no matter what happens on stage. I love performing, so I’m always excited before a show~!

I’m always nervous that im going to forget something so I run the whole thing through my mind, weather it’s dancing movements or lyrics. Then I tell myself I have done my best, whatever happens I couldn’t have done prepared for it any more, So just go out and do it with your best!

Remind myself to smile, give it all I’ve got, and just have fun!

I sometimes get nervous before getting on stage, so I try tuning everything out to calm myself down.

I always say a calming prayer and usually have my lucky trinket and a photo of my bff with me too and I either put them in my sock right before we go out on stage. Rituals from growing up in performance…it always gave me the strength to perform my best

Unfortunately, in Australia, we rarely have Performance Cons (unless it’s for Cosplay), but I do remember the feeling before a Drama Performance! I was super nervous in the beginning and I was so paranoid about forgetting lines, but then I was quietly joking with a friend, definitely made me feel a lot more relaxed. Jumping up and down really helped too XDDD SHAKE OUT ALL THAT NERVOUSNESS.

Graduation & News!

August 7, 2009

First off, we’re very happy to announce that we have a picture featured in FLASH magazine!

We were really, really excited to hear this news! Thank you to everyone who emailed us and left comments telling us about it!

We also have some sad news for you all. After our Anime-Expo performance, Nyuchan announced she will be graduating from the group. She will be continuing her studies in order to become a teacher. Even though all the girls are sad that she will be leaving the group, they are all comforted by the fact that their friendship will continue, no matter the distance between them.

It was a very hard and hesitant decision to graduate from Happy!Project. I have really enjoyed the time with the other members and performing as a group. They all work so hard and I admire their talent and dedication! However, with life as crazy at it is, and being so far away from everyone, I don’t feel like I can give enough attention to Happy!Pro. We achieved one dream of seeing Morning Musume and Tsunku in person – maybe the rest of our dreams aren’t so far away! I wish the current members good luck with Happy!Project in the future!

When I first heard about your graduation, I was really sad. But it made me remember back to all the great time we had working and goofing off together. We had so much fun during rehearsals and just hanging out, going to iHop after performances and you sticking your face into the hot chocolate. I will always look back on these memories with a smile. You always brought laughter and fun to rehearsals, even though you still worked hard. Even though you’re graduating Happy!Project, I know we’ll always be friends. Putting forth the same energy you put towards performances, I know you will be able to achieve anything you heart desires. I’ll always cherish the times we’ve had together.  You’re going to be missed for sure! Congratulations on your graduation!
Love,
Hapichan/Melissa

When I first read that you were graduating, I couldn’t help but be sad and tear up a bit. We have shared so many good random moments during practices and being in the group. I was sad because I thought that we were losing a good friend but I realize now that we’re not losing you as a friend. All the memories we have all shared together with you have been good and that will not change the friendships we have all made. One of the first thoughts that came to mind was “Who is going to want donuts with me now during rehearsals?” I guess I was being selfish in my thoughts. I’m sorry for that. I want you to know that I will miss you being in our group but that I understand your wishes. You have brought so much joy and commitment to our group that I know that whatever comes next that you will bring that same joy and commitment to it. Please don’t forget us your Happy! Project friends. You will be missed in our group but I hope to continue being friends. I will miss your dedication to this group and I know that you were so committed even though you were pretty far from us.I admire that and thank you for that. You have shown all of us something new whether it’s been in costuming or randomness like David Hasselholf’s bad videos. Please continue being your energetic self! I wish you luck in the future. Congratulations on your graduation!

Love,
Mikitty/Kristy

Nyu-chan,
You were the first friend I made in the cosplay world and to top it off, in my home state! Thank you so much for everything you’ve done and helped me with throughout the past few year. You helped me make my first cosplay costume by giving me tips and advice, introduced me to JPop and Hello-Project, competed with me in my first cosplay contest, and even introduced me to Happy!Project. You always made getting together interesting, with your crazy antics and camera skills! I hope that we can continue to cosplay together when our schedules let us. (We make an AWESOME W!) I truly appreciate everything you’ve done and your friendship!
Love,
Mirachan/Tara

When I was first informed that you were graduating, the first thought that came to mind was “My twinny twin is leaving me?”. I was irritated at the thought that one of the only people in the group that’s just like me, and can make me laugh like no other, will be leaving Happy!Pro. What will I do with all the mass amounts of female estrogine pumping through the other girls?! You know I cant handle it alone! Just kidding, I’ll manage. But it will be sad knowing that you are leaving us. I know you’ll never forget us, and that goes for those in Happy!Pro as well. We could never forget our Nyuchan. I know you’ll succeed in all that you wish to accomplish in life. You have always put forth 110 percent when it came to this group, and I know that we all appreciate everything you’ve done for this group and for us. Continue to strive in what you want the most and be happy in life. We will forever be behind you, cheering you on the whole way. Congrats!

Nyuchan:

You have been an inspiration from the moment I started with HappyPro. From your cosplay abilities to your dedication to HappyPro and now that I am a member, I feel like I never got a chance to get to know you as a dancer and as a group member in person! I wish you all the best in everything you persue and don’t be a stranger! I just hope that I can be half the performer that you are! :) Much Love!

XXOOXX
God Speed Nyuu-Chan
UsaHime/Lauren

To Nyuchan,
Although we haven’t really interacted, I’ve always admired your ability to make costumes! “Fantastic O__O” I thought!
I really appreciate your Cosplay Advice and I really hope I get to be as good as you one day <3
I wish you GOOD WILL as you continue in life~ =D
Love, Mikoto/Caitlin

Pocket Weekly #22 & AX Report

July 11, 2009

The girls have all arrived safely from Los Angeles. They are tired from the strenuous schedule but extremely happy with everything they accomplished.

Unfortunately, the girls had to cancel the Pop Shock masquerade due to schedule conflicts, but performed with full energy at Hello!Party hosted by Hello!Ranking. We had a great response and had a lot of fun! We were so happy to meet with so many great online friends like pixierisa & majikuruMaChan2 & Paul Thomas at Hello!Blog just to name a few! We met so many great people at Anime-Expo and at Hello!Party, we feel so fortunate to have been able to meet you all! We hope that we will once again have the opporunity to again.

We performed a Morning Musume Medley composed of Love Machine, Renai Revolution 21 and 3, 2, 1 Breakin’ Out! Followed by a crowd favorite C/C (Cinderella Complex).

Please be sure to check out the videos from the dance performance as recorded by whatrhymeswithgaijin. Thank you so much for recording this!

We also collaborated on Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou? with Sekai no Melody! We thank them for allowing us to collaborate with them on this! We had so much fun. We will be releasing a collaboration celebration single release, so please look forward to it! I will hopefully have video of our collaboration soon.

We have lots more news up and coming! Keep your eyes and ear open!

Please be sure to rate the video! :D

Now, without further ado, we bring you this weeks pocket weekly! Remember, if you’d like to be featured on the blog and have your question answered simply leave a comment below, or send us an email at happyprojectlove@gmail.com !!! We look forward to hearing from you!

What song got you into Hello!Project?

The first Hello!Project song I heard was in middle school, when I was at a sleep over, my friend had a CD with Maki Goto’s Ai no Bakayarou on it, and I was addicted to it! It was a gradual process for me, but that was the first song I heard!

Mini Moni Bus Guide

It’s all Nyuchan’s fault, really. The first time I met her she was dressed as Kago in an adorable Mini Moni outfit. Of course, I had no idea who Kago or Mini Moni was at the time. We were at a small cosplay gathering, which was my first ever cosplay event so I was really rather lost. During the cosplay contest, Nyuchan taught a little bit of a dance to one of the Mini Moni songs. I thought it was a cute song, had fun dancing, and I loved her outfit, so I asked about it. Not long after, she’d put together a few CDs for me with Mini Moni, W, and several of the other H!P groups and we started planning my first H!P cosplay as W!

I loved Biyuuden’s songs, they were the ones that got me into Hello! Project, but now I love HANGRY & ANGRY!!

One of my friends sent me the PV for Mini Moni’s Telephone Ring Ring Ring. I thought it was the most cracked up thing ever! But the more I watched it, the more I loved it!! Somehow, I got my hands on more Mini Moni and was in love! I think I got into Berryz shortly after, and later C-ute, but didn’t because a big Momusu fan until later.

I think it probably was Buono Gachinko. I’m only a recent H!P-aholic since last year! I can blame all of you guys for being so darn cute on stage and getting me involved!!!!!

Admittedly, Massara Blue Jeans. Back then I didn’t realize what H!P was, so when I saw this on youtube I thought “.. ew!” and friends and I made fun of it… sooner or later we thought “hey.. let’s learn the dance” and the next thing before I knew it, I became a H!P fan XDD

Pocket Weekly #21 & AX News

June 18, 2009

We have some news regarding one of our performances at Anime Expo. The schedule for Anime Expo was recently released and the Pop Shock masquarade is currently overlapping with the Morning Musume concert, and if moved may possibly overlap with Hello!Party.

The girls have decided that the Morning Musume concert and Hello!Party will be taking priority in events. If the Pop Shock is moved to a time that does not overlap with any of these events, plans to compete within the Pop Shock masquarade will continue as planned. We are extremely sorry that things have turned out this way, and the group will try to figure things out in order to perform at all three events. We will be keeping an eye and ear open about schedule changes and will alert you as soon as we have more information.

Now for this weeks question! This question was sent to us from Pixie Risa!  The girls are looking forward to seeing you at Anime Expo!

If you would like your question featured on the blog, you can leave your question with a name and a link to your blog on the comments section, or you can email us at happyprojectlove@gmail.com . We can’t wait to hear from you!

Pixie Risa asks…

“Hey guys, what’s one Hello!Project costume you would absolutely LOVE to make/wear?”

My dream costume is the white outfit from Koharu Kusumi’s “Hapi Hapi Sunday!” It’s so cute! And it has wings!!! But, I would also love to make Reina’s step-sister outfit from the Cinderella musical! I think it would be fun to play that part, and the dress is so fun!!

I would like to make Miki Fujimoto’s Boogie Train, it’s just so poofy!

I’m really excited because out of my 3 current favorite Hello! Project costumes, we’re getting to do 2 of them at Anime Expo! My other favorite is Otomegumi’s black and white concert costumes. They have so much personality and character to them.

I know they’re kind of funny, but I really like Ongaku Gata’s colorful outfits . I think they are very unique and colorful!

My dream costume from Hello!Project is Ai Takahashi’s Prince Sapphire costume from the Ribbon no Kishi musical!! Have you ever seen such a stylish prince?

I just recently fell in love with Milky Way and absolutely ADORE Tan tan tan! The outfits remind me so much of Rainbow Brite! Makes me happy and all warm inside!! Seriously considering learning it! Its so cuuuute!

The costume I really like the most, would have to be this Buono Outfit they performed live in. I like the material and colours they used; and even though I know I won’t be able to make something like that, I’d like to try it out anyway <3 It’s a very… attitud-ish costume XD

Pocket Weekly #20 & Performance Update

June 8, 2009

It’s been a while, but I have some great news for everyone attending Anime Expo!  If you don’t get the chance to see the Happy!Project girls perform at the Pop Shock Masqurade, you can catch us at Hello!Party. We will be performing along side cover-super group Sekai no Melody! We will be performing within the intermission, with separate performances of both Sekai no Melody & Happy!Project! The party is going to be a lot of fun, so I encourage all of you to check it out! Again, if you’d like to RSPV for the party, be sure to register here!

The girls will be rehearsing and fitting costumes throughout the next coming weeks in preparation for the big trip! More updates will be given as the event draws closer.

Now for this weeks question!

If you would like your question featured on the blog, you can leave your question with a name and a link to your blog on the comments section, or you can email us at happyprojectlove@gmail.com . We can’t wait to hear from you!

Is there one food that you definitely won’t eat? If so, what is it?

I can’t eat any kind of fish! The smell and the texture just grosses me out. Beside, I have fish as pets! I wouldn’t want to eat their distant cousins or something! That would be so sad!!

I won’t eat oysters or anything related to that. They look gross and don’t think they would be very appetizing >.<

Liver! My dad loves liver and onions but even the small makes me sick. I have to leave for the day when they would make that at home!

I can’t stand dumplings. I think I ate them too much in the past. Now I can’t eat them at all!

Well you won’t catch me eating meat, because I’m a vegetarian! That’s for sure!

I vow to never EVER eat Salt Water Eel ever again…after the last week expereince I had…yup never ever ever again ::turns green:: blech!

Sorry to sound like a Stereotype, but brussle sprouts. BLAH.
